Alcohol and Other Drugs Do Not Cause Violence

     The article i choose to read was "Association Is Not Causation" by Richard J. Gelles and Mary M. Cavanaugh which they state that there no studies still till this day indicating that alcohol or other drugs cause domestic violence in family home. Which I find is kinda crazy being I always felt that drugs and alcohol had a big affect on people and their violent ways but honestly I feel not much have change when its come to people abusing alcohol and drugs cause still till this day we have' people that just don't know how to handle/control themselves when their under the influences.
     I believe there is a strong relationship with drugs alcohol and violence. When someone is under the influence their not thinking correctly as if they was sober so that causes you to react to certain situation different. Scientific evident prove that alcohol doesn't have any chemical substance that may cause people to get violent. I'm a strong believer when a person abuses a substance there a bigger problem in that person life he or she haven't dealt with yet so they're trying to escape reality. I also believe that history repeats itself if a child grows up in house with a parent that's abuse drugs and alcohol the child will most likely want to experience which can lead to a lot of problems in life.
   From personal experience I notice that if a parent is under the influence of drugs or alcohol there is a high possibility that their children will get abuse or neglected because when your doing drugs your main priority is the high so everything else that matters comes second.There plenty of story i heard parent selling their kids just to get high yes its sick but its happening.
  Honestly from here out I don't see this situation getting better. I see more and more people just falling victims to the drugs and alcohol in this world I see the violence continue to grow. Its all commerce from somewhere and I believe depression from the lack of money causes a big reason to why people want to escape into their own little world and just do drugs and alcohol and ABUSE.

    Alcohol and drugs may not cause violence, but there is a strong correlation and individuals under the influence of any drug that affect their judgment are subject to act poorly and impulsively. As a result, their ability to think logically and rationally and to self-regulate their impulses or behaviors is affected. As you said, when an individual is sober and not under the influence of alcohol will not only be physically able to drive safely but also may be likely to think better before acting. Culture plays a major role in influencing individuals to consume alcohol. In particular, if the manifest function of alcohol and drugs were to provide fun, one of the latent functions impairs individuals’ judgment and in some cases influence reckless patterns of behaviors.
